Welcome!
I’m Brent Thibodeaux, a New Orleans-based copy editor, writer, and dreamer.
I’m currently available for hire.

My Background
I’m a diligent writer and editor who’s been refining those skills since six years old. After my father passed, I found solace in words, their materiality and mystique, their ability to enchant, inform, and cauterize despairs and apathy.
I’ve carried that fire throughout my education, studying Creative Writing at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and Louisiana State University. While earning my B.A., I ran the Delta Undergraduate Literary Journal as editor in chief.
I’ve published award-winning poems and copy edited manuscripts of various genres and lengths for publication. Recently, I earned my M.A. in English with a concentration in Professional Writing and Editing at the University of New Orleans.

I strive to write with the sharpest, most precise language and to edit manuscripts until immaculate. With constant regard for each writer’s unique style, I examine every syllable and semicolon with a red pen in hand and the desire to leave the work flawless.
“I’ve known Brent as a student and an intern for my publishing house, Chin Music Press. He was a delight to teach and work with. He’s sharp, curious, willing to learn, and a hard worker. I would be glad to team up with him in the future.”
